Coastal Geologist leaves his mark on the Ocean State
The article by Catherine Hewitt for Southern Rhode Island Newspapers takes a look at the impact that Dr. Jon C. Boothroyd had on Rhode Island through his work. According to Charlestown Council President Thomas Gentz, his passing was “a big loss for the state and to Charestown…He took a complicated subject and made it understandable for the ordinary person. We will miss him.” Dr. Boothroyd worked on beach profiling, was a geology professor, and was Rhode Island’s State Geologist for over 10 years.
