Documentary takes dire look at sea level

The article by Ken Shane reports on the recent showing of “Shored Up: When Human Nature and the Force of Nature Collide.” at the Graduate School of Oceanography. “The film, which was directed by Ben Kalina, takes a hard look at the practice of sand replenishment in the wake of destructive storms.” The film focused on the North Carolina coastline. After the film there was a “panel discussion led by Grover Fugate, executive director of Rhode Island’s Coastal Resources Management Council,” Michelle Burnett of RI Emergency Management Agency, “Chelsea Siefert of the state planning division and the Narragansett Town Planner Mike De-Luca.”
