R.I. Officials: Climate Impact Predictions Worsening | ecoRI
During a January 8th meeting with Rhode Island officials and agency representatives, Executive Director of the Coastal Resources Management Council and Beach SAMP leader Grover Fugate presented attendees with findings and projections regarding sea level rise and Rhode Island’s changing coast. As Tim Faulkner at ecoRI.org notes, Fugate pointed out that “[s]alt marshes are eroding at an accelerated rate” and “Rhode Island’s sea level is projected to rise higher than global averages — up to 6.1 feet by 2100.”
