RIClimateChange.org launched by RI Climate Collaborative
Today marks the official launch of RIClimateChange.org, the new website of the Rhode Island Climate Change Collaborative. During a press conference at URI’s Graduate School of Oceanography earlier today, Judith Swift, Director of the Coastal Institute at GSO, and Pamela Rubinoff, Extension Specialist for Rhode Island Sea Grant and Coastal Manager at the Coastal Resources Center at GSO, spoke to the importance of the Collaborative’s work and the site itself, which aims to bring climate change information and science to the public.
Following the remarks by Swift and Rubinoff, United States Senator Sheldon Whitehouse addressed the audience, praising the cooperative effort of the University, Rhode Island Sea Grant, and all of the scientists, organizations, and partners that contributed to RIClimateChange.org.
The site, entitled RI’s Climate Challenge: Waves of Change, addresses the three major questions of climate change:
What can we expect?
What can we learn?
What can we do?
