Karen Bolter of Florida Atlantic University explains that sea level rise is happening, it’s just a matter of when it will further impact coastal communities. Bolter’s next move is keeping communities informed and eliminating the idea that sea level rise isn’t happening/won’t affect these locations. Her research dives into the process of communicating to communities through their experiences and “hitting home” to ensure understanding. There’s a gap between information and actions, according to Bolter and her goal is to eliminate such gap.
